Think you know your book covers, eh?
Maybe you do.
But do you know these?
The old-skool mechanical whirring that’s beginning to fill your ears is the sound of the quantum engines of our in-house time machine kicking into gear to hurl you backwards over the last 100 years of literature.
That’s literature, as opposed to books. Yeah right. Whatever.
One cover from each of the decades over the last century is yours for the viewing, along with three possible answers. Your job is to pick which title belongs to which cover. Answers at the bottom.
Good luck. You got this. Some of them at least!

And for those of us who didn’t do so well, can I guess what you’re now thinking?

Why is the quiz garbage? It was fun.
I got them ALL except for Cloud Cuckoo Land and only got the Goldfinch because I can see a bird under the torn part, lol.
So…the further back in time you went, the better I did, because I’m obviously a dinosaur.
AND I read eight out of eight out of the eleven… although I didn’t know Mary Poppins and Winnie the Pooh were as old as they were. Of course, I read those in the ’70s, and they seemed old then, but old to me, back then, was like 20 years earlier maybe…

No matter what I do…it won’t let me “like” anymore.
And every time I comment, it makes me leave my information again, even though I said “save this for future comments.” I give up, lol !!!
PS: Also fascinating that they solved that Somerton mystery. I read up on it a little bit. Poor guy.

Enjoyed this, Glen. Seven of them were well known to me and I just guessed the 2020s cover because I knew the other two.
I had no idea about these novels published in the 2010s whilst in the 1970s and 1960s, any novel would have to have been something outstanding ( my opinion!! ) as reading fiction was not on my priority list in those years.

Thanks Bernadette so much for taking the quiz.

Those technical hassles are frustrating for me to hear about as well Stacey, let alone experience first-hand. Making folk who want to engage with this blog jump thru unnecessary hoops to have that engagement is the last thing I want to do. I’ve gone in to check the settings a dozen times to ensure people don’t have to leave any details to comment (even first-time commentors) but still the gremlins persist it appears. I’m going in again to settings land now…
Thankyou so much for checking on the Somerton Man Mystery (aka the ‘Tamam Shud’ case. I was kind of secretly hoping you would! If DNA technology and forensic family-tree mapping has come this far, then I reckon an answer to the JonBenet Ramsey case isn’t far away. Here’s hoping.

I didn’t think it was you, btw. I think something has changed in general, ’cause it’s happening to me on other sites as well.
As for the DNA thing… it’s amazing. And literally life-saving for those who’ve been erroneously jailed, although even if I was discovered to be innocent and finally released (if I was them) I would never forgive anyone for that, lol
