WHAT THE DICKENS? Not Dickens. McCarthy. Cormac McCarthy. This, believe it or not, are pages from his FAMOUS 1985 novel BLOOD MERIDIAN minus the words and reduced to just the BARE BONES OF THEIR punctuation.
In the same vein, the image above represents pages stripped of their words and reduced to only their punctuation symbols taken from the more complex prose of William Faulkner's 1936 novel ABSALOM, ABSALOM!
Placed side by side, the contrast between these two writers' styles is even CLEARER. With a magnifying glass.
