To me it is very important. I peer out all day and most of the night. There is always something to see. A bee, a moth, a cat stalking through the flowers, a racoon slipping up to eat the cats food. Always something to see.
To know where the sun in the sky is, general direction of clouds, to see if a storm is coming and of course traffic. Very important.
